About Us

With 30 years of experience and contacts worldwide we founded PovertySwap in 2010 with the idea that it might be possible to play an effective part in the lives of those most in need.

The Company

PovertySwap Limited is a charitable company limited by guarantee: Company registration no: 07376388. A charity registered with the Charities Commission in England and Wales: Charity registration no: 1152167.

With 30 years of experience and contacts worldwide we founded PovertySwap in 2010 with the idea that it might be possible to play an effective part in the lives of those most in need. We knew people with very good ideas who lived within those communities of need and we knew people who wanted to help. We hoped we could connect those two groups and create some positive, compassionate development opportunities.

Relational Partnership

The relationships we develop with the local, visionary leaders of the projects we work together with are vital to our success. We call it relational partnership. Although operating in differing cultures we find our common ground in our compassion for those in poverty. As we discuss the possibilities we lay our hopes firmly in our prayers and experiences, often of miraculous provision.

Our Integrity Promise

As founding Directors in 2010 we agreed that our personal income was more than sufficient to allow us to fund the administrative costs of the charitable company. These means we are able to send 100% of every donation to our partners for the benefit of those who need those funds. PovertySwap therefore has no overheads for company salaries or expenses and we have no costs for office space. All who offer time and volunteer with us operate from that same value. We are very appreciative of that. Our partners are not paid by us and many administer the PovertySwap fund voluntarily and with no benefit to themselves.

Our Trustees

Our Board of Trustees and Directors of the charitable company PovertySwap Limited are sought and selected for their appreciation of our core values, their personal compassion for the poorest people of the world and their experience in both business and charities.
